A focus on wellbeing

We care about the health of every individual who works for us. Our wellbeing programme aims to help our staff with their mental, emotional and physical health, during working hours and outside of them. Our programme includes:

  • The Wellbeing Hour: Take a free hour each week during your working hours to do something that enhances your wellbeing. Some people use it to take their dog for a walk or read a book, others use it to catch up on household chores or catch up with friends over coffee.

  • Employee Assistance Programme: An extensive range of free, virtual services to support our employees and their immediate family. Get easy access to 24/7 GP consultations, mental health support, fitness programmes, expert financial and legal guidance, and more.

  • ToothfairyDental Service: Instant access to advice, guidance and prescriptions through the UK's first health regulated, smart dental app.

  • Employee Wellbeing Group: An employee-led group to support the design and delivery of our wellbeing activities. Initiatives they have introduced include weekly 'Break to Breathe' sessions, a 'Tea break buddy' scheme to help colleagues connect with each other, and awareness day events.

Terms of employment

We're committed to providing the best possible terms of employment so we provide a range of policies and procedures to help support and guide our employees in their work life.

  • Annual leave: our standard full time annual leave entitlement is 27 days plus 8 bank holidays.

  • Family friendly policies: our range of family friendly policies cover fertility, maternity and paternity leave, fostering and adoption, supporting carers, and time off for dependents.

  • Flexible working: we operate a form of flexi time in our core hours policy, meaning staff are able to choose their start and finish time, as long as they are in between the hours of 10am-4.30pm. We also offer a variety of additional ways of working flexibly.

  • Agile Working: we have modern working practises to enable employees to maintain better work life balance.

  • Life Events: we know that 'life event's can have a significant impact on individuals, both at home and at work. We ensure employees going through a life event  know what help is available and how to access it if they need it.

  • Endometriosis: we are committed to creating an open and supportive work place and recognise that the symptoms of endometriosis may constitute a disability.

Other benefits and allowances

  • Pension scheme and stakeholder pension: we operate a Group Personal Pension Scheme for employees and provide an employers contribution of 5% of an employee's salary.

  • Life Assurance: we provide a four times salary death in service benefit. This means that if an employee passes away while employed with us, their beneficiaries will receive a lump sum of four times the employee's annual salary. There is no charge for this benefit.

  • Annual season ticket loan for train travel

  • Cycle to Work loan scheme

  • Charity discounts
